Mentorship

Community is central to my creative practice.

Over the last 15 years I have supported countless artists navigate the craziness of life as a creative practitioner, assisting painters and sculptors alike to expand, push, and develop work to their fullest potential.

Together we can assess your individual needs and move towards developing a robust studio practice, including a critique of work that ensures a strong output. We can cover any and every area of your professional development, creating pathways to exhibition opportunities through the creation of all necessary supporting material; ie. bio, cv, statements and images.

I have a proven track record in supporting artists navigate the artworld and I look forward to offering you the opportunity to receive such support.

“Harrie Fasher has been an inspirational mentor to me, especially through her openness to show the workings of her own practise and her methods. This has included how to overcome blocks and a lack of confidence to present work.

She has a gift for enhancing an artist’s abilities and productivity. This includes connecting like minded artists, building support and  encouragement through a sense of community.

A rare bird.”

Jen Herbert Smith

“Harrie is an exceptional mentor assisting in establishing my practice across sculpture, painting, and drawing. Harrie possesses an innate intuition for recognising when encouragement is needed, as well as offering thoughtful and practical advice.

From technical expertise, such as assisting with the design of structural footings for a large-scale Sculpture by the Sea installation, to broader professional and personal support. She encouraged me to expand my skill set, approach my studio practice with clarity and intention.

Harrie’s generosity, enthusiasm, and unwavering belief in my work has played a vital role in helping me establish myself as an emerging artist.”

“I found Harrie’s approach to mentorship to be holistic, candid, and generous. Through our work together, I was able to prioritise my energy and approach my art career with a clear strategy and renewed focus. Harrie has a wonderful ability to connect with an artist’s creative intentions and to help develop and position that work within the complexities of the art industry.”

“I am immensely grateful to have Harrie as a dear friend and invaluable mentor (because with Harrie these are gloriously inextricable). Immensely generous with her knowledge and time, Harrie's guidance is always sensitive and astute - moving effortlessly from considerations of overall impact and composition, to technical advise, material juxtaposition, right down to the finest details and punctuation of a piece. With humility, honesty, humour and profound care, she supports not only the evolution of the work, but the artist as a whole - expanding one’s creative ecology, enlivening the creative spirit, and emboldening one’s sense of self-worth as an artist and as a human being.”
